March Madness

March 22, 2008 - Leave a Response

It’s been a long time since we’ve updated this. Since the last update, we had our two record release shows, played a handful a couple other shows, started writing some new material, and continued work on the booking of our summer tour with Tigers Jaw. The record release shows were great, despite the winter storm that nearly ruined the first night, and the technical problems that caused some problems the second. Thanks to each and every person that came out to that. We hope you had a good time. Here are some pictures from the shows.

Thanks to Robert Schuerman and JDK for the pictures.

We have also been getting lots of good reviews in about Kingston. Here is an excerpt that we all really enjoyed. Yo

“It’s like Saves the Day had never found pot and Chris’ voice had been allowed to age instead of him having to sing out his nose to hit high notes he shouldn’t be aiming for. Or Lifetime with a sprinkling of post-hardcore. Or maybe it just sounds like Title Fight.”- John Michael Bond (Mammoth Press)

But here are links to all of the reviews we have been getting.

We will have some more updates about summer plans and so on in the upcoming months. Keep checking back.

You can check out the new episode of NJ Filmcore to see an interview with us and several other skits by the guys at NJ Filmcore. Thanks to Eric X Raj for the help on that. Check out the past episodes and the future ones as well.

We also have been starting to put some work into getting some summer tours done. We are hoping to get to the northeast with our friends Tigers Jaw sometime this summer for maybe a week. We are also trying to do several other weekends and maybe some other tours. We are going to try and play out as much as we can, unless Jamie is in England that is. We will hopefully be putting out updates on that soon as we plan to start booking our tour with Tigers Jaw soon.

Also, all the colors of the records are in the FlightPlan Webstore and will available everywhere (in the e-world) soon. The colors are blue (100), green (100), white (100), and black (150) . So if you weren’t able to get your hands on the preorder records, just scurry on over to BFP’s record emporium and you can expect it to your door very soon.

And if you forgot, we have two record release shows coming up. Here are the flyers:

We recently got our record release shows scheduled. The shows are going to be February 22 and 23. February 22 at the Black Lodge in Kingston (22 W. Bennett Street) and February 23 at the Pittston Itallian’s Club (126 Oak Street). The first show is with Tigers Jaw, The Deep End, and Brandon Setta. The Second show is with Reign Supreme (American Violence Record Release), Bracewar, Trapped Under Ice, Mindpiece, and The Early Birds. Both shows are going to be awesome and we’re going to have limited covers with us in celebration. There is a new song called “Loud and Clear” that was posted on our myspace if you haven’t already heard it, too.
Also, thanks to everyone who bought preorders. They sold out in 2 days. The records came in a lot sooner than we had anticipated and we will be putting up the other 4 colors in the FlightPlan Webstore later this week. The preorders are looking to be shipped out the first week of February after we get the shirts in. Also, along with the records we will be putting up some new shirt designs in the FlightPlan Webstore as well.

We are working on some awesome plans for the summer and are also getting a lot of new shows together for March/April so be on the lookout for both of those.

Preorders for the new 7″ Kingston are now available in the FlightPlan webstore. There are some deals that you can get that include a limited run of Red Barons shirts/longsleeves. All purchases come with a digital download so you will have the songs right on your computer. We couldn’t be happier with how the record came out and we are extremely happy for it to finally be available. We have a new song from the 7″ called “Loud and Clear” posted on our myspace. Preorders are going fast so be sure to order quick.

Our first ever weekend tour went better than we could have imagined. All the shows were very fun. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting us. We can’t say thank you enough. The tour started in Philadelphia at a clothing store called Deep Sleep. The store was rad and everything went smoothly. We sold a good amount of merch and made the drive to Richmond that night. We played Ramakin’s in Richmond was a crazy bar. Richmond is honestly one of the coolest cities that I’ve ever seen. The show was cool. We played Baltimore on Sunday. The venue, the Local Highrise, was humongous but the show was still a lot of fun. Shout outs to : PosiDan, Phil and Deep Sleep, Bill FlightPlan, Reid, WWC, Josh, Foster, Phil, and the Fan Van. Here is a quick montage put together by Rulio with some footage of the weekend.

We also played a really rad show at the Cafe Metropolis on Saturday, January 5th. There will hopefully be some video from it but for now there are some pictures. Pictures are from Brianna of Tigers Jaw.

Here is also an old video from a show on November 21,2007 at Cafe Metropolis.

The test presses are in. Here are a few pictures of the tour presses that we will have with us on the weekend tour.

The covers are all hand stamped and numbered and the records are all hand stamped. We have 30 all together for the tour so be sure to pick one up.

The test presses have been held back for a bit due to a machine malfunction at the pressing plant. We should have all of the test presses this week. We are going to take 30 on our weekend tour through PHILADELPHIA, RICHMOND, and BALTIMORE with limited hand numbered covers and hand stenciled records and whatnot. The cover is being drawn up right now so all that will be done soon.

As I previously stated, we have the weekend completely booked. The dates are the 21-23 of December, 2007. Almighty Posi Dan will be taking us away from our parents for 3 days in a large van. We couldn’t be more excited about this and we hope everyone is excited as well. The shows are shaping up to be pretty rad. We have records and some cool shirts so you can get your merch on. If this all goes well we will hopefully be out on the road again sometime soon

We played Siren Records this Saturday and it was awesome. Thank you to everyone that came out. The place sold out and we got an awesome reaction. Here are some pictures from our friends JDK and the Babii Dannii.

Hopefully we will get some video up from either this show and/or our show on November 21 at Cafe Metropolis. You can check out some videos that were up on youtube from the Metro show here and here.

It is also nearing the end of 2007, so I’d like to thank everyone for this year. This entire year was jam packed of some of the best shows we have ever played, meeting some of the coolest kids, and just having an all around awesome time. We got to release a CD that we are very proud of, got to play warped tour, got to play with some awesome bands… it was a great year. Hopefully, the next year will be even better. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Hey. We have some big updates here to tell you all about. First off, the Kingston 7 is at the plant right now and we will have the test presses next week. If everything goes well with that, we should have the actual records by about December. The layout is finalized and everything is going very smoothly with that. The record release show will be announced very soon, as well.

Also, we are in the process of booking a weekend for December 21-23. I know we’ve said we were doing weekends before and it never happened, but this time it’s real… I swear. We have our first show booked at Deep Sleep in Philadelphia and we are working on a show in Richmond on Saturday and a show in Baltimore on Sunday. The details are being worked out with those and we should have everything straightened out very shortly. We also have some cool shows coming up at Marywood University in Scranton, PA on November 16th, Cafe Metropolis in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 21st, and Siren Records in Doylestown,PA (with Bridge and Tunnel and Algernon Cadwalrlader) on December 1st.

We entered  JL Studios today to record our 7″ with FlightPlan Records entitled Kingston. We finished tracking drums, bass, and both guitars so we have just vocals, some special touches, and some mixing to do tomorrow. The record will be out by early/mid December. Pre-orders should be announced sometime in mid November, so be on the look out for those. Here are some pictures from recording.
